Mga Teorya Ng Pinagmulan Ng Wika

Malinaw na ipinahahayag sa Bibliya na ang wika ay kaloob ng Diyos. Sa mga relihiyoso, walang duda ito. Napakarami at napakasalimuot nga naman ng mga wika sa daigdig. Walang makagagawa nito kung hindi ang Maylalang ng lahat. Sa Bibliya pa rin, isinasalaysay kung paanong mula sa iisang wika, ang mga tao sa daigdig ay nagkakaroon ng iba't ibang wika. Naaalala mo pa ba ang kwento kay Babel at sa kanyang tore?

Sa huling bahagi ng ikalabindalawang siglo, ang mga iskolar ay nagsimulang mag-usisa kung paanong ang tao ay nagkaroon ng mga wika. Dahil dito, lumitaw ang mga sumusunod na teorya ukol sa pinagmulan ng wika.

Teoryang Bow-wow

Ayon sa teoryang ito, maaaring ang wika raw ng tao ay mula sa panggagaya sa mga tunog ng kalikasan. Ang mga primitibong tao diumano ay kulang sa mga bokabularyong magagamit. Dahil dito, ang mga bagay-bagay sa kanilang paligid ay natutunan nilang tagurian sa pamamagitan ng mga tunog na nalilikha ng mga ito. Marahil ito ang dahilan kung bakit ang tuko ay tinatawag na tuko dahil sa tunog na nalilikha ng nasabing nilalang. Pansinin ang mga batang natututo pa lamang na magsalita. Hindi ba't nagsisimula sila sa panggagaya nga mga tunog, kung kaya't  ang tawag nila sa aso ay aw-aw at sa pusa ay miyaw. Ngunit kung totoo ito, bakit iba-iba ang tawag sa aso halimbawa sa iba't ibang bansa gayong ang tunog na nalilikha ng aso sa Amerika man o Tsina ay pareho lamang?

Unang natutong magsalita ang mga tao, ayon sa teoryang ito, nang hindi sinasadya ay napabulalas sila bunga ng mga masisidhing damdamin tulad ng sakit, tuwa, sarap, kalungkutan, takot, pagkabigla at iba pa. Pansinin nga naman ang isang Pilipinong  napapabulalas sa sakit. Hindi ba't siya'y napapa-aray!  Samantalang ang mga Amerikano ay napapa-ouch! Ano ang naibubulalas natin kung tayo'y nakadarama ng tuwa? Ng sarap? Ng takot?

Pinaniniwalaan nga mga nagmungkahi ng teoryang ito na ang tao ay natutong magsalita bunga diumano ng kanyang pwersang pisikal. Halimbawa, anong tunog ang nililikha natin kapag tayo'y nagbubuhat ng mabibigat ng bagay, kapag tayo'y sumusuntok o nangangarate o kapag ang ina ay nanganganak?

Ano nga ba ang wika?

Ayon kay Webster , ang wika ay isang sistema ng komunikasyon sa pagitan ng mga tao sa pamamagitan ng mga pasulat o pasalitang simbolo.

Ayon naman kay Archibald A. Hill sa kanyang papel na "What is Language?", ang wika ay pangunahin at pinakaelaboreyt na anyo ng simbolikong gawaing pantao. Ang mga simbolong ito ay binubuo ng mga tunog na nalilikha ng aparato sa pagsasalita at isinasaayos sa mga klase at patern na lumilikha sa isang komplikado at simetrikal na istraktura. Another story which is more romantic is the love story between Arogo and Aloya. Arogo is a young and strong giant who fell in love with an ordinary mortal girl called Aloya. The girl he love died. Arogo cried and cried. His tears turned into hills which is an everlasting proof of his grief.

According to the experts, Chocolate Hills are weathered formations of a kind of marine limestone on top of an impermeable layer of clay.
